White Truffle Fair at San Miniato

On Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 8pm join this busy, open air market where you can learn about, taste and purchase the rare white variety of truffle mushroom or Tuber Magnatum Pico.
La Mostra Mercato Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco di San Miniato, takes place the last three weekends of November, when truffles will find their full ripeness and maximum goodness. Together with the white truffle you can appreciate the best of Italian food. Chefs will animate more than two kilometers of stands, one of the most important open-air taste laboratories in Italy.
Truffles can be found on the tables of the best restaurants in the world, being prized for their goodness, appreciated by the powerful and famous of the earth. It is considered a "magic fruit", the "diamond of the earth" or "white gold". Whoever finds truffles finds a fortune! For three weekends the medieval city that gave birth to the filmmakers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, who belonged to the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II and gave birth to Napoleon Buonaparte's parents, will be the capital of White truffles in Italy.
